Telford International Centre (TIC Telford) has joined the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events (APPG) as a corporate member.
Its addition serves as a further demonstration of the APPG’s commitment to closer cooperation between the events industry and policymakers, guaranteeing the sector’s interests are voiced in Westminster.
TIC Telford joins a growing group of influential organisations already supporting the APPG, including beam, SEC, Racoon Media, Experience Oxfordshire Venues, Event Hire Association, Togather, the Association of Event Venues (AEV), Manchester Central and the Meetings Industry Association (MIA).
Alison Griffin, Managing Director, Telford International Centre, said: “We are honoured to join the APPG for Events and champion the broader interests of our industry at the national level. Venues, like Telford International Centre, are not just spaces for gatherings—they are powerful engines driving business growth, tourism, and professional advancement throughout the UK. The events we host play a pivotal role in the nation’s economic prosperity and shape a brighter future for all; therefore, it is imperative our collective voice is heard by policymakers in Westminster. Together, we can ensure the value and impact of our industry is recognised and supported at the highest levels of decision-making.”
A spokesperson for the APPG for Events said: “We are very pleased to welcome TIC Telford as a corporate member of the APPG. Alison’s involvement further strengthens our mission to ensure the UK events sector is fully represented at Westminster, with the unique perspective and expertise that leading venues bring.
“Now more than ever, it is vital that our industry engages directly with policymakers to showcase its value, address key challenges, and explore future opportunities. We encourage other venues and organisations to follow this lead and support the work of the APPG as we continue to elevate the events industry’s voice in Parliament.”
The APPG for Events now has a total of 43 members, including 32 Parliamentarians, nine individual corporate members and one group member.
PR & Communications agency Davies Tanner, through its The Business of Events Think Tank and Advocacy Network, manages the APPG for Events and acts as a Special Advisor to the group.
